A very enjoyable adventure in the days of Napoleon with all the greed and craziness of that era.
It is full of a blossoming love between the two main characters with excitement, wit and a simple story yet very engrossing told by Elizabeth Boyle.
I have thoroughly enjoyed this second book in this series and am looking forward to reading the next.
I liked the time period, the clandestine activities, and the romance! A very inventive heroine.
The book was a good read, the main characters having been introduced to the reader in the earlier book in the series, and developed well, here. I would have rated it a 3.5 or 4.0. Without including spoilers, I can only say I don't understand how the heroine gets out of her main problem. The solution offered is incomplete, at best. At worst, it makes no sense. It is very unlike Ms. Boyle and her wonderful writing. I would not recommend this book due to the fragmented and incomplete ending.
I would strongly suggest a good, thorough editing, and re-write and that Ms.Boyle never listen to publisher demands on word/ page counts again.
