There’s a legend...about a party...hosted by vampires. An event so exclusive - the invitation is by word of mouth - with strict rules that must-be-followed. So what happens when your best friend is invited and practically begs you to go along with her?

You go, of course!

Stepping over the edge of darkness and deep into the secret world of vampires, twins, Elizabeth and Melinda discover that their friend, Fiona was right the legend is real.

Everyone’s having fun at the masquerade party, but all Elizabeth wants is to get through the night and return to her charming
new love interest. However, as the evening
grows ominous, chances are, they may never
get home…Melinda is getting drunk, Fiona’s
gone missing, and a nightmarish clown is
stalking Elizabeth. And even more terrifying
- this sinister vampire thirsts for much more
than what’s flowing through her veins.

Instead of a carefree evening of dining,
dancing, and drinks - there will be danger,
there might be hard decisions, and there
may be despair.

But…there definitely will be blood.

Ravenswynd Legends Ravenswynd Series Book 1 eBook Sharon Ricklin

As the first book in a series, Ravenswynd Legends was a great introduction in my opinion. A nice, clean, vampire romance that anyone can enjoy. This is not your typical vampire tween escapade. It tells the story of three women: Fiona and twin sisters Melinda (Lindy), and Elizabeth (Lizzy). This is a first person narrative with Lizzy starring as the main character.

The beginning was hard for me to follow, well maybe not follow as much as remain focused. The main character’s inability to stay locked on one moment was dizzying. Her thought process flitted around like an airhead on a sugar high, very distracting. About the time of the actual party things smoothed out and became easier to follow. The story reeled me in once more and held me captivated, curious to know where the author would lead us next. The story surprised me with the depth of its descriptions.

There were a few spots I might have been tempted to roll my eyes, due to its sappy nature. Considering the era most of the vampires were born in, I didn’t feel it was too overly done. Even the rendition of poetry added to the overall emotion of the story. I especially liked how she slipped Poe’s work into the storyline, it truly fit the mood.

My least favorite character – You would think my least favorite person would be the antagonist, but you’d be wrong. I can almost feel sorry for him. No, I greatly disliked the twin sister, Melinda. She was selfish and self–centered. She pretended concern for her sister, but really she seemed more worried about how Lizzy’s decisions, might affect her own life. She really rubbed me the wrong way.

Favorite Part – What I truly liked most about this story is the vampire folklore. It’s not your typical storyline. While I tend to find entertainment in the twilight style stories, mostly for a good laugh, my true addiction stems from the older legends. I found the turning process in general intriguing. Sorry, I won’t give away details, but I think most true addicts of vampire lore will enjoy the twist.

This is a full length novel, with a nice price tag. The sneak peek of book two was just pure evil. I had to go buy it. Over all it was a sweet vampire story that I would recommend to others.

Ravenswynd Legends Ravenswynd Series Book 1 eBook Sharon Ricklin Reviews

For those who love a great vampire romance with HEA, this is it! Loved the characters, settings, story line & the fact that there are more books after this one. Great evening read.
This is a really well written book and at times very poetic. It is a newer spin on old Vampire lore which is always nice. Considering I read it in one sitting I guess it's fair to say that it grabbed my attention and didn't let go. Now the downside- with regards to the lovey-dovey, overly saccharin, gushy bits, sometimes more is just more....and in this case it is over the top. Overall a good read though and I cannot wait to start the second book tomorrow.
A page turning masterpiece! Not your standard vampire novel - this book for me actually let me feel what it would be like to be "turned".

This book had me hooked and I shall now seek the other books in the series, forget True Blood, forget Twilight...this book takes vampire storytelling to another level...a "fangtastic" read! Well written, well researched and left me "thirsting' for more! EXCELLENT!
I just finished Legends and it was everything I hoped for and more.
Once again I am in love with the characters in Sharon's book.I have started the second in the series..could not wait to get started after finishing Legends.
Sharon has an exceptional ability to weave a tale from beginning to end.She has taken a subject which has been the chosen theme of many well written authors and created a whole new world to explore.
Believe me you will not be disappointed.I would love to see a movie or tv mini series created from the Ravenswynd Series. Some where out there a screenwriter is looking for a fresh new canvas to work with!
Who ever discovers this series will find a feast for the taking!
Sharon.....I hope you will gain well the deserved recognition your writing contributions deserve.
It is a challenge for avid readers to find authors who create an ongoing hunger for more .....
Yours is a refreshing and powerful new voice in the realm of the written word.
................And I definitely want to come along on this journey!
This was actually a sweet love story. It was fast moving and the characters were likable. I had thought this would be somewhat darker, it was not dark at all, it was on the light side. Now that the love story has been told, I'm wondering what is next, there are infinite possibilities. I would have liked it more if there was some opponent that had more than a five minute part in the story, so perhaps the next book will get into that and provide a little more than just a love story.
This vampire romance novel is a definite page-turner it had me hooked from beginning to end. Jones introduces the reader to new, dark, mysterious world of vampire lore and culture, and there is a lot of promise of secrets to be revealed and relationships to be explored in the rest of the series.

The cast of characters is varied and captivating, and I confess that the scene when the main character is "turned" left me absolutely breathless!

It robbed me of some late night sleep, but then, that's the mark of a page-turner!
I'm a huge vampire fan. I love the different twists and spins that can be put on vampires to make each book unique. That's exactly what Ravenswynd Legends was, unique. I usually don't care for sweet in my reading material, I normally prefer a much darker atmosphere especially with vamps, but somehow this story made it work. Maybe I was drawn in by the excellent attention to detail and description.

Ravenswynd Legends is a very well written book with a great story line. One thing I didn't quite love was how the beginning kept jumping around, it was a little disorienting. Other than that, a wonderful book.
